Before she became the head optician at Long Family Eye Care, Janay was a patient in the practice! She has extensive optical cross-training, but she now enjoys her role helping our patients shop for their new frames to match their lifestyle, personality, and color/style preferences. She truly enjoys listening to patients’ stories in order to help find the right lenses to fit their needs – she keeps up with current optical fashion trends too! When not working, she enjoys spending time with her son and two cats, playing video games with friends, and watching favorite tv shows.
Holly started her career in Optometry in 2006 and has held many roles ranging from technician to leadership & management. In 2013, Holly was diagnosed with Stargardt’s Disease, which is a retinal disease similar to macular degeneration and results in a loss of central vision. Since then, Holly has developed a great passion for helping those with low vision and she is now our head low vision technician. She has volunteered for The Foundation Fighting Blindness and assists with their annual Vision Walk. When Holly isn’t working, she enjoys spending time with her husband, 3 children and their dog.
Since her first eye exam, Destani has had an interest in optometry. She admits that it helped that her aunt actually worked in that office! Now, as one of our preliminary testing technicians, she enjoys working with patients and learning more about them and eye care in general. Outside the office, a few things she loves are being outdoors with her dog, Duke, playing with her nephews, and going to dirt-bike races.
The first smiling face you see when you enter the office is probably Lesa’s! She joined us already having two-plus years of experience in optometry as a receptionist and a technician. Now her focus is strictly on making your experience pleasant at check-in and making the check-out process simple and efficient. She likes shopping at local small businesses, spending time with family and friends, and cooking – she especially enjoys trying new recipes! Finally, she also makes time to attend concerts and travel as much as possible.
While she has always had an interest in eye care, Karrie actually started her career with on-the-job training here at Long Family Eye Care. She says she has enjoyed every moment of it and cannot wait to learn more and further her education! While she loves people, she loves animals even more and really enjoys being creative, crafty, and being outdoors. When not working, she spends time working on her home with her fiancé and cuddling with her fur-babies.
